The Arts Cafe @ Community House has run a programme of workshops and exhibitions led by artist’s and co-created with community participants.
For the majority of the exhibitions artists exhibited their work alongside the work of participants to co-create an experience with themes ranging from future heritage, climate, LGBTQIA+ culture, geek culture, class, recovery from addiction, myths and legends, foodbanks and poverty and much more. Hundreds of participants have collaborated with artists on these mini-commissions which have tried and tested different ways to utilise the Arts Cafe space connected to our host’s building in Peterlee.
